Veneers are thin coverings bonded to the front of teeth. They differ from crowns, which cover more of the tooth structure.

Porcelain and composite options differ in preparation, repair and maintenance. Where enamel is removed, the change is irreversible; “no-prep” is not suitable for every case.

Recovery & follow-up

Veneers need everyday cleaning and ongoing dental review. They can chip, loosen or wear and may eventually require repair or replacement.

Risks & important considerations

Risks include sensitivity, enamel loss, fracture, debonding and decay around the restoration. Good appearance does not eliminate the need for oral health care.
